Man-animal conflict: DC Kulgam issues directives for timely response | KNO

Kulgam, Apr 22 (KNO): After escalating incidents of man-animal conflict across various parts of Kulgam, the Deputy Commissioner (DC) has issued directives aimed at ensuring timely and effective responses to prevent loss of life. A communiqué, a copy of which lies with the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), reads, “Keeping in view the Man-animal conflict incidents reported in various parts of the District and in order to ensure effective and timely response & to prevent any kind of loss of life, following instructions are hereby ordered.” “Additional Control room and Quick Response Team (QRT) shall be setup and stationed at DH Pora. Divisional Forest Officer (T) shall identify suitable accommodation and office space for deployment of Quick Response Team at DH Pora.” It says, “The team shall be lead by an official from the Wildlife Department currently posted in the District. The Lidder Forest Protection Force, Anantnag shall depute 8 to 10 personnel as members to this Quick Response team. The Quick Response Team (QRT) shall address the man-animal conflict issues in the areas of Sub Division Noorabad and its vicinities. Wildlife Warden shall provide equipment viz. tranquilisers, Safety gear and other necessary equipments to the team.”—(KNO)
